There's your response, just in case you were asking, "Hey, did the Clives dress up for Halloween?" And here are the pictures you've all been waiting for:

Spencer and I had no idea what we were going to wear until the day of, and in Spencer's case, about 20 min. before. Considering that, we were pretty pleased with the turnout. The "Obama Eats Here" line: if you lived in Hyde Park, you would know that every food establishment here claims that. I was pretty proud of myself for that clever little claim.

Yes, it's almost disturbing how well he pulls off this look. It's like he was born to sell hotdogs.
Cadence poses with "P'tay-tay" and Addie, some of her little friends that she talks about all the time. They are almost the same ages as her cousins, Lauren and Avery, and they know just how to play with her, just like her cousins.
After an approximate 500,000,000,000,000 attempts to get Cadence and Reesey to pose together, this is the best I got?!? They were both so busy and excited, they couldn't hold still for very long. They ended up chasing eachother around on the grass instead of posing for pictures. Reesey looked beautiful and was lucky the weather was so perfect so she didn't have to cover her fairy princess dress up with a jacket. Cadence was not so lucky, as her costume was a jacket.

At the "tot lot" Halloween party, Cadence exhibited a trait inherited from me: she stayed right next to the food table almost all the time. I found her several times just like this: next to the food table, licking an Oreo clean, with a pile of cleanly-licked cookies next to her. That is not from me. I like the chocolate part.
I felt very pleased with myself at the close of this Halloween, and relieved to have an excuse to dress up. So therapeutic. And I liked Spencer's costume...a lot. The girls looked cute, and we had a lot of fun. We missed Merica on her birthday. Happy birthday, Mer!
And we have enough candy to last us till next year. Or next week. mmmm...

I think Spencer really was born to sell or hot dogs or at least grow a mullet. Loved the costumes... the hot dog costume has to be one of my all time favorites!
Are you in the same ward as Gina & Clifford?
So I totally didn't get the hot dog thing at the party. Very fuuny! If I'd known you were selling Campbell for a dollar...
So cute! Cadence is getting so much hair! And I guess Spencer is too! haha! Looks like you guys had lots of fun!
So cute. My husband was a hot dot too.
awesome! way to get into it :) the girls look adorable!
You guys had the coolest costumes in town!
wow I love ur costumes very frugal and original
Oh. My. Goodness. There aren't words! Just wait until I post our Halloween pictures.. Thank goodness I married someone who also likes to dress up. Or at least he's very nice about humoring me :)
Cute pictures. I thought Spencer really pulled off the part pretty well!
Super cute. I'm glad to see the return of the hot dog. But with all the comments about your family, I missed what you were supposed to be. I'm going to guess Deb from Napoleon Dynamite, and hope that I'm not just severely misunderstanding the Chi-town style.
We miss you guys.
Wow Mardee, you guys just have the cutest costumes! So clever! :) Oh how I miss you guys... And yes... Cadence definitely has some Orton in her.
