Tacoma?

Hey, it looks like the verdict is in and we are headed to Tacoma for a few months. We have a lot of reasons to come back to Walnut Creek at least for several weekends through April. After that, I'll at least have to be back once a month for my prenatal check up. I am really excited to just know where we will be. It has been pretty tough being in Limbo for so long. Spencer is excited about his role, which will provide him with some good Leadership opportunities. Also, the corporate housing scene is looking great.

Right now in Tacoma it is 45 degrees (vs. 58 in Walnut Creek). I'm really hoping it's not too cold and that the winter doesn't last too long. If anybody knows how long the winters are in Tacoma, I'd love to know.

Cadence is going to especially miss Luke, Rebecca, Lauren and Avery, and Wes adn Linda (the Carlsons, whom we live with) and Matt and Mimi. I'm going to miss a lot of people too. Merica, Kellie, and Mimi and Matt, especially. I would probably miss Heather more if I got to see her at all :). That's true about a lot of you. I am also going to miss seeing Victory be a real person again and miss Heidi's and Whitney's great lessons.

One final note: for those of you who know my sister Mignon, and that she's been serving a mission in Korea, MIGNON GETS HOME ON SATURDAY! I'll see her for the first time next Tuesday. Keep your eyes peeled for a special post all about it.

This is Cadence at 3 days old. She was such an angel baby. Just thought you might like to see the development of the cutest baby ever.

This (below) is Cadence as a very cute Unicorn and Luke, her man of choice, as a ruggedly handsome cowboy. And when I say "man of choice", I mean it. She pretends to call him on the phone, they love to kiss (unprovoked by us big people), and she talks to him even when he's not there (lately she's been heard saying "Luke, No! No, Luke.")

Oh! We're going to miss you guys so much! You must come over for dinner one of the weekends you're here.

I don't know how I'm going to break the news to Luke that his girlfriend is going to Tacoma...

I have to admit...I provoked them to kiss once. But just because I heard they were bf/gf and I wanted proof.

We'll miss you guys too. Even though it's hard to believe that you're REALLY going away since you usually end up back here somehow. Maybe it's because Cadence is uncontrollably drawn to me -- we are best first-cousins-once-removed, ya know.

Oh my goodness. I can't believe that picture of Cadence when she was 3 days old. I knew her then, but I can't seem to imagine her any other way than she is now. In my mind she talked since she was born. I'm going to miss you so much Mardee. I'm so happy that your sister came home yesterday and that you get to see her on Tuesday. It will be such a wonderful time for you. Something happy to think about during this crazy time you are having. Rebecca will miss Cadence too. You have to keep up with the blogging and call when you are in town. Rebecca would love to have Cadence over to play while you are at your doctor's appt. And we have a bed here that you can stay in if you ever need to (it will be a wonderful reason for me to clean off all the stuff on it). It has been fun this past month you've been around.

So glad Spencer got a job he likes even though you will all be missed around here. I used to swim in Washington a lot. Beautiful place to live. You are going to love it. Just be prepared for rain the next couple of months.

Wish you had included a picture of her parent unicorns. I saw them. They ARE real.

I am so jealous that you are in WA...since I am a fellow Washingtonian (try saying that 10 times fast!).

I just happened upon your site through Fenima's. Fenima had a link to the Mcmillians blog, and they had a link to yours. Funny how we're all interconnected!

I don't know too much about Tacoma, but that was Steve's mission. He never served in Tacoma, but the surrounding cities. I guess before I comment I should ask him about the weather or cool places to see. The highschool from 10 things I hate about you was filmed there.
